Dreamin’ About the Dream Makers’ Market

By: Kyleah Bodden

When we think of vendors, small business owners, and local entrepreneurs, children or youth rarely come to mind and are less likely to be associated with the skills and abilities that are needed to acquire entrepreneurial leadership. BuyBlackNB’s Dream Makers’ Market, however, denounces that narrative and highlights youth entrepreneurs that wish to share their craft with the community.

The 2nd Annual Dream Makers’ Market located at Custom House Square at 21 Barkers’ Lane in downtown New Bedford is on Thursday, July 13th from 5-8 pm . This event will be a great opportunity to not only purchase beautiful and meticulously crafted products from local vendors and entrepreneurs, but support, uplift, and empower the youth of our community who have bravely chosen to participate. This event will feature live performances, music by DJ Fresco, mobile art projects with the New Bedford Art Museum, and delicious food from Dope Palate along with the over 20 talented youth vendors. This event is a must-attend for those who enjoy empowering the youth and having the opportunity to find unique and creative products! Participants also received coaching, take-home material and financial training from EforAll SouthCoast, First Citizens Federal Credit Union, Senator Mark Montigny’s Children’s Fund, Our Sisters’ School, and Boys & Girls Club of Greater New Bedford.

There is something for people of all ages to enjoy. Come join us and be inspired by youth in our community! Dream Makers Market free event registration: https://BuyBlackNBDreamMakers.eventbrite.com
